These terms cover use of this website and the basis on which Columbia EV Charger Installation quotes and performs electrical work in Columbia and Howard County, Maryland.
Using this website
The content on this site is provided for general information about EV charging installation. It is written to be accurate and useful, but it is not an electrical design, an inspection or a substitute for an on-site assessment of your property. Do not rely on it to decide whether a specific circuit or panel is safe.
Quotes and pricing
Any figure discussed on the phone is an estimate given without seeing the property. A binding price is issued only in writing after a site visit and load calculation, and it is valid for the period stated on the quote. Work outside the written scope is quoted separately and is not started without your approval.
Scheduling and access
Install dates depend on permit timing, equipment availability and safe access to the panel and the charger location. We will tell you promptly if a date needs to move. You are responsible for providing access to the property and for clearing the work area so the installation can proceed safely.
Permits and inspection
Where a permit is required, we pull it and attend the inspection as part of the quoted work unless the quote says otherwise. Work performed without a permit at a customer's request is not something we undertake, because it cannot be inspected and it can invalidate rebates and insurance.
Workmanship warranty
Our labour is warranted in writing for the period stated on your invoice. The warranty covers our workmanship and does not cover the charging equipment itself, which carries its own manufacturer warranty, or faults caused by later alterations, damage, misuse or work performed by others.
Equipment and manufacturer warranties
Charging equipment supplied through us is covered by the manufacturer's warranty, which we register on your behalf where the manufacturer allows it. Claims on that warranty are handled under the manufacturer's terms. Where you supply your own unit, we install and commission it but cannot warrant the hardware.
Payment
Payment terms are set out on your quote and invoice. Unless agreed otherwise, payment is due on completion of the work. Deposits, where required for equipment or utility coordination, are stated in the written quote before anything is ordered.
Cancellation
You may cancel or reschedule a booked installation by calling us. Where equipment has already been ordered specifically for your job or a permit fee has been paid, those costs may be charged. We will always tell you what has been committed before you decide.
Limitation of liability
Our liability is limited to the cost of putting right defective work we performed, except where the law does not allow that limitation. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated from time to time, and the current version is the one published on this page. The terms attached to your written quote govern your specific job.
